MiFIRE Safety Instructions

MiFIRE products should only be used by responsible adults.

• ✓Read all instructions carefully and keep them for future reference
• ✓Ensure every user understands safe operating procedures
• ✓Never use a damaged or unstable fire pit
• ✓Inspect the product before each use

MiFIRE fire pits are designed exclusively for outdoor use. Burning fuel produces carbon monoxide, which is colourless, odourless and potentially fatal in enclosed spaces.

• ✓Never use inside homes, garages or tents
• ✓Never use inside caravans or motorhomes
• ✓Do not use in gazebos without adequate ventilation
• ✓Do not use on enclosed patios or in any enclosed or partially enclosed space

Always place the fire pit on a stable, level and non-combustible surface such as concrete, paving slabs, gravel or stone.

• ✓Never place directly on dry grass
• ✓Do not use on wooden decking without a suitable heat barrier
• ✓Keep away from artificial grass, plastic, vinyl, leaves and mulch
• ✓Never position on carpet or any flammable material

Maintain a minimum clearance of 3 metres from surrounding hazards and ensure there is sufficient open space above the fire pit.

• ✓Overhead structures

Wind may carry sparks over long distances and increase the risk of fire.

• ✓Do not use during strong winds, storms or thunderstorms
• ✓Do not use in extremely dry conditions where restrictions apply
• ✓Never use during an official fire ban

A lit fire must never be left unattended. Children, vulnerable persons and pets must be kept at a safe distance while the product is in use and until it has completely cooled.

All metal parts may become extremely hot during operation.

• ✓Avoid touching the fire bowl, grill plates and cooking grates
• ✓Treat handles, ash pans and overhead accessories as hot unless specifically insulated
• ✓Always use heat-resistant gloves, long-handled fire tools and appropriate cooking utensils

Use dry seasoned hardwood, kiln-dried firewood or natural charcoal where compatible. Inappropriate materials may release toxic fumes and damage the product.

• ✓Never burn petrol, diesel, kerosene or alcohol
• ✓Do not burn paint, plastic, rubber or household waste
• ✓Do not burn treated or painted timber, MDF, plywood or chipboard
• ✓Never use chemical accelerants not intended for fire pits

Never use flammable liquids to ignite or revive a fire.

• ✓Use approved firelighters or natural kindling
• ✓Build the fire gradually and allow airflow around the fuel
• ✓Stand back while lighting

Always maintain a safe distance from open flames.

• ✓Do not move the product or overfill it with fuel
• ✓Do not lean over flames
• ✓Avoid loose clothing and tie back long hair where appropriate
• ✓Keep hands away from flames and never throw objects into the fire

If cooking on your MiFIRE product, use food-safe equipment and hygienic food handling practices.

• ✓Ensure cooking accessories are correctly installed
• ✓Keep raw and cooked foods separate
• ✓Wear heat-resistant gloves around hot cooking surfaces
• ✓Allow accessories to cool before cleaning

Allow the fire to burn down naturally where practical. If immediate extinguishing is necessary, use water carefully or a method suitable for outdoor solid-fuel fires.

• ✓Ensure every ember is completely extinguished before leaving
• ✓Never leave smouldering embers unattended

Ash can remain hot for many hours. Dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.

• ✓Allow ash to cool completely and move it with a metal shovel
• ✓If not fully cold, use a non-combustible metal container with a lid
• ✓Never put hot ash in plastic bins, cardboard boxes, paper bags or household rubbish containers

Flying sparks may ignite nearby materials. Maintain a clean safety zone around the fire pit.

• ✓Remove dry leaves, paper and cardboard
• ✓Keep fuel containers and garden waste away
• ✓Do not position firewood stacks too close to the fire

Burning wood and charcoal produces carbon monoxide. It cannot be seen, smelled or tasted, and exposure can cause serious injury or death.

MiFIRE fire pits must never be used indoors or in poorly ventilated areas.

If fire spreads beyond the fire pit, do not put yourself at unnecessary risk.

• ✓Move people to a safe location
• ✓Contact emergency services immediately if necessary
• ✓Use an appropriate extinguisher only if it is safe to do so

Before every use, inspect the product. Do not use it if any structural defect is identified.

• ✓Check for structural cracks and damaged welds
• ✓Look for loose components, instability or missing parts
• ✓Check for excessive corrosion affecting structural integrity

Unauthorised modifications may compromise safety and void the warranty.

• ✓Do not weld additional components or drill new holes
• ✓Do not alter the structure or fire bowl
• ✓Do not install non-approved replacement parts

MiFIRE products are intended for outdoor recreational fires, compatible outdoor cooking, and residential garden or patio use.

• ✓Not for indoor heating
• ✓Not for waste incineration or commercial waste disposal
• ✓Not for industrial applications or burning hazardous materials

Users are responsible for complying with local fire regulations, municipal bylaws, temporary fire bans, environmental regulations, and community rules.

Always verify whether outdoor fires are permitted in your area before use.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MiFIRE shall not be liable for injury, property damage or loss resulting from misuse, failure to follow these instructions, unauthorised fuels, improper placement or installation, unauthorised modifications, insufficient supervision, or use contrary to law.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.
